In the given article the woman`s position in Middle Asia as in one of Islamic regions is analyzed; the historic time referring to the end of the XIX-th – the beginning of the XX-th centuries. Proceeding from the historic materials the authors make an endeavour to analyze the role of women in the life of society. They conduct a comparison of the works produced by home and foreign scientists on this problem.
