Factors of Borrowing Language Units

Avtors

Mirsaminova Guzalkhon Mahmudjonovna

Abstract

A number of new factors promoting borrowing of words are elicited alongside with well-known ones of penetrating of the units of one language into another. The author finds some other reasons causing transition of words into another language. One of these factors is a bilingual milieu on a certain territory. The striking example of it may be illustrated by hundreds of Russian words which were borrowed by Tajiks in the years of the Soviet power. The second factor is friendly relations between two nations living in a neighbourhood and speaking different languages. This factor may be proved by the fact that as a result of the relations between Tajiks and Uzbeks which lasted for centuries hundreds of Uzbek words were borrowed by Tajiks  and vice versa. The third factor is a development of science, engineering and culture of some nation which caused the process of borrowing new vocabulary. In particular, nowadays scores of scientific, technical and cultural terms of English and Russian languages have been penetrating into the Tajik language.
