The article dwells on a complex of ideological, cultural, political and mental changes in the Kyrgyz Republic, as part of a natural process for Central Asian region which directly affects the functioning of mass media and communication ones. Special attention is paid to the axiological sphere, the mechanisms of formation of terminal values that determine the vector of development of Central Asian media in general and Kyrgyz media, in particular.
The article is devoted to the problem of reflecting socio-political transformations and processes in the modern media space of Kyrgyzstan. In historical retrospect, such concepts as "freedom of speech" and "pluralism" are considered. The possibilities of their functioning in the Kyrgyz Republic are also studied with taking into account the influence of socio-cultural and mental factors. Difficulties and points of conflict in the process of their implementation in political communication in Kyrgyzstan are outlined. Preliminary recommendations are given for solving communication problems in this area.
