This article examines the theoretical and practical aspects of the system for ensuring information security in the context of the digitalization of social processes. The authors compare modern processes of digital environment development with increasing cyber threats, the spread of false information (fake news), and the vulnerability of the information infrastructure of mass media. It is emphasized that in such circumstances, the role of digital media, and especially digital journalism, becomes significant not only in the dissemination of information but also in ensuring its security. It is concluded that ensuring information security in the modern digital environment is a necessary condition for the effective functioning of the mass media. With appropriate protective mechanisms in place, information and editorial systems can be safeguarded against cyberattacks, data theft, and the spread of false information.
