The article analyzes the process of creation and activities of secondary specialized medical education institutions in the north of Tajikistan in 1932–1945. It is shown that they arose in the difficult social and sanitary conditions of the late 1920s and early 1930s as a direct response to the acute shortage of personnel in the healthcare system. The role of schools, technical schools, and the medical training center in Khujand (Leninabad) in training mid-level medical specialists, the activities of key individuals, and organizational and training challenges are examined. The impact of the Great Patriotic War on the functioning of these institutions is analyzed, and it is concluded that, despite economic and military difficulties, they played an important role in the formation of the healthcare system and the training of national personnel.
