The article's relevance stems from the need to study and understand Tajikistan's role during the Great Patriotic War. Previously, the historiography of Tajikistan has not comprehensively examined the evacuation of populations from occupied territories to Tajikistan, including orphanages and children, and the care provided to them. To cover this topic, materials from national and regional newspapers and documents from the State Archive of Contemporary History of the Republic of Tajikistan were used. These documents reflect information about the activities of government agencies to ensure conditions for saving children's lives, the creation of orphanages in the republic, the organization of the educational and upbringing process in them, and the daily lives of the children. The organization of assistance to evacuated children in Tajikistan was multi-faceted and included both public and private initiatives. The republic's leadership and local councils played a key role in this process, providing evacuees with accommodation, food, and medical care.
