«Majma` al-Amsol» by Maydani, its Persian Translation and Brief Reproduction

Avtors

Hamroboev Nasimjon Abdullojonovich

Abstract

The article dwells on the analysis of the translation and reproduction of the outstanding work of Maydani, that of «Majma` al-Amsol» – the collection of Arabic sayings and locutions. The author compares the work under consideration with the outstanding literary production of Rashidaddin Vatvot called «Latoif al-Amsol». The author expresses his own opinion running to the effect that Vatvot`s literary production presents the translation and brief reproduction of the mentioned work belonging to Maydani. Moreover, proceeding from Vatvot`s translation, the authors of the two later works, those of «Latoif al-Amsol» and «Mujmal al-Ahvol» wrote the section on proverbs and sayings. Though the authors of the relevant works don`t mention that fact these works are not considered to be the translated ones, but designing on the premise of the collected materials and comparative study the author of the article proves that «Latoif al-Amsol» by Vatvot and the section on proverbs and sayings out of «Nafois al-Funun» by Omuli and «Mujmal al-ahvol» by Damonisi undoubtingly should be looked upon as translations and brief reproductions of «Majma` al-Amsol» by Maydani.
