“Majma'-un-nafois” is one of the most popular literary anthologies in Persian written by the famous Indian poet and writer of the 18th century Sirajuddinalikhan Arzu contains valuable information about 1,750 poets who created in Farsi. The main importance of the anthology consists of that the fact that the most of the biography of the poets were the contemporaries of the author himself, and the information recorded in his book is reliable, because the author was personally acquainted with many of them and communicated with his pen-brothers at literary parties. The factual material collected by the creator of the anthology is not homogeneous. The life and creative work of many contemporaries of the author of anthology are covered in more details, while the information about many other poets is very scanty. The author skillfully judges the intricacies of poetic skill, showing deep knowledge of the poems theory. The author's critical remarks, based on correcting some of the poets` poems determining the rank of poets' verses, the degree of their eloquence, and so on, are the best examples of a critical analysis of the poetic word. In this plane, "Majma'-un-nafois" is one of the best Persian sources of Farsi literary criticism of the 18th century and is very valuable.
