Abstract

The author of the article lays an emphasis upon the fact that though Ziyouddin Khujandi was mostly a gazal-creator poet, 165 rubais are placed in his “Divan”; the poet`s outlook being reflected here in certain measure. The analysis of quatrains shows that in 85 rubais there occurs redif. The range of occurrence – 1 – 5 words. In the majority of rubais the poet rhymes three lines; the third one being remained free. Only in thirty rubais the poet applied an all-round rhyme, i.e., all four lines are rhymed. Rubais are distinguished with naturalness and simplicity. Thematic plan of quatrains is comparatively broad including laudation, satire, love-theme and etc. Quatrains-eulogies cause interest as the majority of them contain the appeal to “shakh”. Special attention is paid to the analysis of satirical quatrains being of more personal slant than of social one.

It is underscored that such satirical poems of the XII-th century are occurred in the divans of practically all big poets, Hakani, Djamaliddin Isfahani, Rashid Vatvat and others inclusive.
