Abstract

The article dwells on the phenomenon of omission of auxiliary multifunctional elements in written monuments of the X-th – the XIII-th centuries. It is underscored that omission of separate language elements in modern linguistics is expressed by different terms. For a description of this phenomenon we give preference to the term hazf, i.e., omission, withdrawal. We briefly consider the history of semantic evolution of auxiliary parts of speech, especially prepositions. It is marked that out of presently functioning prepositions of the Tajik language, those ones of ba, dar and partially as were mostly often subjected to omission in the epoch under study. The hypothethis is moved that in the centuries in question it was the first component conveyed with a primordially simple preposition which were more often omitted in complex Izofat prepositions. It is especially underlined that omission of prepositions observed since the commencement of modern Tajik literary language formation has been going on up to nowadays.
