Based on documents stored in the archive of the foreign policy of the Russian Empire (AVPRI), the article tells about the life of the last Emir of Bukhara Said Alim Khan during his studies at Nikolaev Cadet Corps (Military School) in St. Petersburg. It is noted that the emir lived in a difficult time, when the era of the Romanov dynasty ended in the Russian Empire, and the rule of the Mangyt dynasty ended in Bukhara. In Soviet historiography, nothing was written about Emir Alim Khan, or it was written exclusively negatively, since he represented the "exploiting" layer of the population. Almost nothing has been written about his early years in historical science. On the basis of archival materials, the life of the prince in Nikolaev Cadet Corps is described, his daily routine, curriculum, and a brief description of the future Emir of Bukhara is given.
