The article provides a comparative analysis of the sound organization of the verse in a fragment from the original “Shahname” by A. Firdawsi and in the Russian translation of the same passage by Ts. B. Banu-Lahuti. As a result of the analysis of seven stanzas (14 lines) from the text of the poem, the specificity of euphony in the original is highlighted, which is manifested in the skillful introduction into the text of various letter combinations, elementary repetitions of vowels and consonants and complex combinations, combinations of assonance and alliteration, aimed at achieving the euphony of the poetic text, increasing his emotionality and expressiveness. In the same vein, the translation of the fragment into Russian is analyzed and it is revealed to what extent the translator was able to reproduce the sound features of the original. The general conclusion to which the analysis led: Ts. B. Banu-Lahuti managed in his translation to get as close as possible to the Persian-Tajik version in transferring the phonetic features of the fragment into the translation language: euphony, skillfully organized by A. Firdawsi.
