Abstract

The article examines the formation and spread of the Arabic language and literature on the territory of Iran in general, and in particular in the literary environment of Gurgan. It is noted that in the IX-X centuries. the capital of the Ziyarid state - the city of Gurgan, along with Bukhara during the reign of the Samanids, Khorezm during the reign of the Khorezmshahs and Ray under the Buwayhid dynasty, was recognized as one of the literary and cultural centers of this period, including Arabic-language Persian-Tajik literature. The reasons for the spread of Arabic language and literature and their acceptance by the Persian-speaking people of Iran are analyzed. It is emphasized that in the first centuries of Islam, in connection with the conquests of the first Muslims, the Islamic religion spread, and the Arabic language and literature penetrated into the conquered countries through two main sources of this faith - the Koran and the hadiths of the prophet and were favorably accepted by the newly converted peoples. Examples from the poems of Arabic-speaking Persian-Tajik poets of the 9th-10th centuries who belonged to the literary circle of Gurgan were translated and analyzed.
