Abstract

The struggle of the Tajik people against the Arab invaders is one of the great and complex periods of Russian historiography. When the Muslim Arabs established power throughout Arabia, they began an invasion of Iran and completed it in 642, clashing with Khorasan and Movarounnahr. When studying the history of the Tajik people, along with archaeological materials and historical and geographical works, written documents are also of great importance. One of them is the Sogdian documents from Mount Mug. A study of the documents reveals that, along with other information, they describe moments of the struggle against the Arab invaders. One of the documents reflects the struggle for freedom of the people of Khujand. All the peoples of Central Asia, including the city of Khujand, participated in the struggle against the Arabs. Although the Khujand liberation movement ended in failure, it remains a symbol of their patriotism.
