The article provides information about one of the main sources of formation of negative verbs – the prefix - and its important role in the formation of various verb forms. It was revealed that the negative prefix is connected with almost all forms of verbs of the indicative mood: in the forms of the past simple tense (napisandid – did not approve),past continuous tense (namedonist - didn't know), anterior past tense (nadida bud - didn't see), anterior past definite tense (nadonista istoda budand - didn't know), basic perfect (nadidaam - didn't see),perfect continuous (sihat nameshudaast – it turns out he didn’t get better), compound future tense (nahoham guft – nahohad did – nahohad shunid), in the past presumptive form of verbs of the presumptive mood (raghbat ham nadoshtagisted – probably, you have no interest), etc. It was revealed that the aorist form of negation of verbs of the conditional-subjunctive mood differs in the place of use from other negative forms.
