The article presents an analysis of compound words with a somatic component in Unsuri Balkhi`s creation, the place of these words is shown in different expressions; the author also underscores that except certain words, those ones of muhibruy and kandlab inclusive, the components of the words studied are primordially Tajik ones, for example, dastbof, garmsar, ruybikisht, dilorom. Proceeding from interpretation of compound words, the author determines their initial units; potentialities of their polysemy being accurately reflected. Being designed on the premise of rich factological material, it is proved that in Unsuri`s creation there are words composed in pursuance with rare schemes; the fact promoting further preservation of Tajik language uniqueness. High frequency of compound words with somatic components in Unsuri Balkhi`s creation is marked especially. It is also underlined that in the poet`s verses compound words with two primordially Tajik components of shoddily, garmsar type are occurred more frequently.
