The article dwells on the studied “Divan” belonging to the pen of Persian-speaking Indian poet Ozod Balghiromi as a valuable origin on the history of literary criticism; the poet`s mastership being shown as a subtle approach to the matter-of-fact. Proceeding from the rich factological material, the author of the article discloses Ozod Balghiromi`s viewpoint of verse structure, its daintiness, place of misra genre in the poetry of Indian style, rhyme and redif, matla. It is underscored that not all men-of-letters of the epoch considered observed ethical norms of literary criticism, many of them subjected Ozod`s works to ungrounded, non-objective, non-professional criticism. Ozod, in his turn, calls such critics as “envious persons”, “ignoramuses”, “unwell-wishers”, “scantily literate” and etc. It is marked that Ozod gives creative characteristics to many of his contemporaries, he separately emphasizes their contribution into the development of poetry.
Special attention is paid to Ozod`s attitude in regard to poets-predecessors, particularly, to Hafiz Shirazi. It is asserted that Ozod Balghiromi considered Hafiz to be his spiritual preceptor (murshidam).
