In the article, the object of analysis is a political text that has its own specifics. The types of translation are considered, it is argued that socio-political translation is one of the most popular types of translation activity. It is noted that socio-political translation combines elements of two contradictory styles - artistic (description of the place and participants in the action) and special translation (presence of certain terminology). A review of theoretical literature is provided, the points of view of scientists, contradictions in their views, etc. are studied. It is emphasized that when studying translation, Tajik scientists mainly rely on the methodological base of Russian scientists.The aspects that a translator should pay attention to when working with a political text are considered. Using specific material, the linguistic features of socio-political texts, types of translation techniques of transformation and various stylistic factors that translators may encounter when adapting the text to the reader are examined.
