The article dwells on the ways of interpreting the meanings of lexical units using synonyms in other languages and adverbs in the dictionary “Burhoni Qote’” (“Irrefutable Evidence”). It has been established that when explaining the linguistic material in this dictionary, along with synonyms from the Persian-Tajik language and its dialects, synonyms from other languages, including Arabic, Turkish, Suryan, Latin, Greek, Indian, Azerbaijani, and adverbs from Arabic, Turkish and Indian languages. Factors in the use of synonyms from other languages and the belonging of these synonyms to a particular language and dialect have been identified. It is concluded that the author of the dictionary resorts to this method when interpreting and explaining terms, obscure words or words related to botany, pharmacology, medicine, etc.
