The article analyzes some features of the functioning of repetition at the syntactic level in the Uzbek and Tajik languages. Repetition in the compared languages is considered as a syntactic-stylistic figure, which has a special character in poetic and journalistic works. Syntactic repetition as a semantic-grammatical-stylistic category is divided into repetition of sentence members, repetition with syntagma, repetition of phrases, repetition with phrases, repetition of sentences – predicative repetition. Anaphora is analyzed as a way of combining the components of simple and complex sentences that form a syntactic structure of identical grammatical form. Accordingly, anaphora is classified into lexical-morphological anaphora and syntactic anaphora. Lexical-morphological anaphora is interpreted as the main syntactic-stylistic means in complex sentences, in particular in non-union complex units. One of the manifestations of repetition—epiphora—characterizes the technique of ending syntactic constructions to enhance the meaning of a repeated element of speech. Syntactic epiphora is classified as epiphoric syntagmas, epiphoric phrases, and epiphoric sentences.
