The article notes that in the ghazals of Saadi Shirazi, the theme of love is presented through the description of the psychological experiences of a lover. Saadi has a keen sense of the inner world and state of mind of a lover in various situations, and, most importantly, can skillfully describe their subtlest nuances. The state of being in love is reflected as an internal sensation into which the poet’s personality is immersed. It is emphasized that, although Saadi's ghazals describe two types of love—earthly, real, and mystical—in his work, the description of real, earthly love clearly predominates. Numerous examples have been cited to support the idea that Saadi's work contains many ghazals entirely devoted to the theme of separation, suffering, melancholy, and grief in love. These ghazals most often feature the rhymes "ari"/"r" and "ui," and the rhymes "shudam," "ast," "mebar," and "man."
