The article attempts to analyze the characteristics of the compliment genre based on prose works of modern Tajik literature. It is noted that the compliment genre occupies a special place in the speech etiquette of the modern Tajik language and plays an important role in establishing relationships between people. Research into this genre in speech etiquette is essential for improving social communication. It is emphasized that the compliment genre is being examined in detail for the first time in Tajik linguistics. The specifics of the compliment genre are explored using illustrative material from the works of Tajik writers Sadriddin Aini, Bahmanor, Sotim Ulug-zade, and others. Based on theoretical principles of domestic and foreign linguistics, various aspects and features of the compliment genre in Tajik speech etiquette are presented. New forms of the compliment genre were identified, and it was concluded that some of them can be used in communication. The novelty of this work lies in its exploration of the evolution of the compliment genre in Tajik speech etiquette.
