Abstract

The article analyzes notes and scattered indications of the authors of famous chronicles of the Х-ХIII-th centuries, Abuali Bal'ami, Abulfazl Bayhaqi, and Abushsharaf Jurfodikoni, on the role of the word and the writer in historical works.Famous chroniclers emphasized that the author should express his thoughts concisely, succinctly, and meaningfully, avoiding verbosity and repetition at all costs. As the author of "The History of Yamini" notes, man attains eternity by sowing the seeds of words. As the author of "The History of Yamini" notes, a person acquires eternity by sowing the seeds of words. According to the authors of chronicles, the language of historical writing should not be dry and hackneyed, so it is necessary to embellish the narrative with elegant stories. The occasional use of poetic passages in the chronicles adds further embellishment. It is concluded that the comments of authors of historical chronicles from the 10th to 13th centuries, on the one hand, imbued the language of these works with elegance, fluency, and a measured delivery, and on the other, had a significant influence on the style of both contemporary chronicles and historical works of subsequent centuries.
